How do I get Started?
The first step is to complete the on-line application. This does not obligate you to Shane’s Rib Shack in any way. The form is simply used to determine mutual compatibility. Upon receipt and review, we will contact you for a phone interview. If we both agree to proceed, we will give you our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) for review. This document contains all the information required by the Federal Trade Commission and/or the particular state in which your Shane’s Rib Shack restaurant will be located. The FDD will enable you to diligently investigate our franchise operation.
What types of opportunities are available?
Individual and multi-unit franchise opportunities are available.
What is the franchise fee?
The fee for your first franchise is $30,000.00 (We offer a $10,000.00 discount to Veterans).
What is the term of my franchise agreement?
10 year Franchise Agreements are awarded to qualified franchisees. We are prepared to commit to a long-term relationship with you.
Is there a continuing fee?
Yes, the continuing Royalty Fee is 5% of net sales.
Is there an advertising fee?
Yes, currently the Advertising Fee is 2% of net sales for national advertising. This allows Shane’s Rib Shack to compete with other national brand systems and continue to build the Shane’s Rib Shack brand.
Will I receive assistance in finding a suitable location for my Shane’s Rib Shack restaurant?
Yes. While it is each franchisee’s contractual responsibility to find a suitable location, Shane’s Rib Shack representatives will voluntarily assist you in this process. We will collectively review all available options and approve a location that is mutually agreed upon and meets our criteria.
Does Shane’s Rib Shack offer financing?
Shane’s Rib Shack will recommend SBA and lending programs, however, we do not offer direct financing. Qualified prospective franchisees, as Shane’s Rib Shack franchisees, may be able to obtain a loan from a third party institution. The loan amount may vary in respect to the applicant’s credit history, the liquid assets value of the applicant, as well as the cash amount used by the qualified prospective franchisee as its direct contribution to the total in estimate in the franchise.
Who signs the lease?
Each franchisee will execute the lease for their store. Shane’s Rib Shack will provide a rider to be attached to the lease.
How long does it take to open a Shane’s Rib Shack restaurant?
We hesitate to give a specific time due to the number of variables that exist. Usually a restaurant opening may be completed within 120 days or more from the time a site is leased.
Do I receive training by Shane’s Rib Shack?
Yes, our current training program consists of hands-on experience in operating a Shane’s Rib Shack at one of our Corporate locations. This covers all facets of operating the Shane’s Rib Shack business. A Shane’s Rib Shack representative will then assist you at the opening of your first restaurant.
Can I sell my franchise?
Yes. As in any other business, your business can be sold. Shane’s Rib Shack must approve the buyer and there will be a transfer fee to cover the legal and training costs.
How much income can I generate from a Shane’s Rib Shack franchise?
In 1979, the Federal Trade Commission Rule on Franchise and Business Opportunity Ventures was passed. These laws and certain state laws were enacted to protect prospective franchisees by requiring the delivery of certain mandated information to adequately inform franchisees of relevant facts prior to the franchise sale. Shane’s Rib Shack is prohibited from disclosing earning claims of any nature, except as may be provided by the FDD.
